The Invention
The UW researcher identified IgG sequences that bind Rheumatoid Factors (RFs) involved in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and/or COVID-19. These peptides could be used as diagnostic reagents to monitor the presence of RFs in the serum of people at risk of developing RA to slow disease progression. These peptides could also be used to isolate or create RFs that could improve the outcome of COVID-19 patients.
